Website Design & Development
Back in 2022, I had the pleasure of designing and developing the new church website for Salem Church of God in Clayton, OH, in partnership with D373. However, in recent years, the church went through a massive shift in messaging and branding, and the church approached me to help make their website’s design match the new flavor. Working with the new communications director, we were able to both visually connect the website to the other digital media assets, as well of set up a better workflow for sermon media and events. Throughout the project, we also strived to connect their Text in Church platform (for event signups and text notifications) to the website.

Project Details
- Website built on WordPress to allow for both adaptability and full ownership (rather than be a on a non-proprietary church website platform).
- Sermon series engine powers is set up to power their sermon media archive and eventually, the sermon audio podcast.
- Event calendar that allows for both event announcements but also has the ability to set up bookings/tickets (including accept payment).
“My Growth Snapshot”
After the new website was finished, Salem’s Executive Pastor approached me about building out an “app” of sorts to help their congregation grow in their Christian faith. To build out this portal, we created a quiz that the congregation is able to take and grade themselves in each of the four key areas of the Christian walk. After they grade themselves, they then are able to select one of the key four areas that they would like to grow in over the next month.
Once they select which area they want to focus on, it triggers of set of emails that are sent every Sunday morning for the next month, with the opportunity to then focus on one of the other areas for the following month.
And with people inputting their scores, the ministry staff is able to take an assessment on their church’s strengths and needs in order to build both preaching calendars and growth groups to walk alongside their church in that specific season.
