Website Design & Development
First Baptist Church in Lafayette, LA recently underwent a total rebrand, including their logo, verbiage, and mission/vision. As a part of that rebrand, the church desired a new custom church website that better tells the story of the church. The old website was built on a proprietary software owned by a church marketing company. With their new website, they desired to have full control and ownership of the website. After website launching, they decided to sign up for my WordPress hosting, maintenance, and support plan.
This website was done in partnership with D373.
Project Details
As a part of the website project, we worked with First Baptist Lafayette to figure out the biggest needs for the new website. Outside of the standard ministry pages, here was the specific list:
- Complete integration with their Church Management Software, Planning Center
- Stand alone sermon portal that allowed for posting the sermon, two different services, two different service types, and create a podcast feed
- Worship service livestream on the website itself
- Integrate with MailChimp to allow people to sign up for their church’s email newsletter/announcements
In doing all of this, the new website both visually matches
Project Deliverables
In light of the project needs, here are the tools and softwares we used to launch the website:
- Website built on WordPress CMS to keep it off of a company’s proprietary software and future proof the website.
- Series Engine software to power the past services and series portal.
- Display.Church to establish the connection between the website and Planning Center so that every church event appears on the website, rather than having to be redirected off the website.
- All contact forms and Plan Your Visit forms powered by Planning Center.
- FluentForms Pro connection to MailChimp so that we don’t have to rely on MailChimp’s software to load remotely and allows for us to style the contact form.
