Problems That Needed Solving
- First Baptist Church of Mishawaka’s former website was hosted on a proprietary church software. It was originally set up by a former administrative pastor, but after he left the church a couple years ago, the website never was touched or updated.
- The new website needed three things:
- A sermon media page that is never out of date and automatically updated
- Connection to the church management software
- Easy way to create events and receive sign ups
Project Overview
If you would have told 9 year old Marc, “Hey, you know how we’re going to go compete in the academic meet at First Baptist Mishawaka? Well, you will create a new website for them one day.”
Or high school Marc, “Hey, you know how we’re heading to First Baptist Mishawaka for a basketball game? Well, guess what….”
I would have just stared at you and then walked away . . .
But here we are! 2024 and a fresh website for my friends at First Baptist Church of Mishawaka!
First Baptist Mishawaka is one of the oldest churches in the entire community (…1867…), and has been a cornerstone building in the downtown Mishawaka skyline. They wanted a fresh website to reach a new generation with their church’s vision and the message of Jesus. This website not only helps people know EXACTLY what to expect when they visit, but it also sets the table for the Gospel message right on the website.
Project Details
- Custom designed website, developed with WordPress.
- Connected YouTube to the website so that anytime a new service is added, it automatically adds it to the website.
- Created custom event portal to allow for them to add in key events and add registration shortcodes.
- Created custom contact forms inside their church management software and used those throughout the website so that anytime fills out a contact form or plans a visit, it goes into a specific funnel for intentional follow-up.
- Hosting only plan signed after the website was launched, resulting in a monthly relationship between FBC Mishawaka and myself.
