Laura Tuttle, better known as @lauralivesthegoodlife, reigns as the ultimate queen and authority on gut health. Laura strives to assist her followers in living the good life, from sharing sourdough recipes to educating them about raw milk. Recently, Laura dished to expand her reach beyond Instagram and own her own dedicated corner of the internet. In addition to her substantial following, Laura has authored a highly popular sourdough cookbook, The Sourdough Essentials Cookbook. However, lacking her own website, she sold her cookbook through someone else’s platform, resulting in significant sales losses. She approached me to create her brand, establish the ideal recipe for showcasing her recipes and favorite good life products, and facilitate the sale of her cookbook.

Project Needs
The project needs were simple:
- Complete branding kit
- Website for blog posts, favorites lists, and email sign-ups
- E-commerce for book sales
Project Phases
We needed to get the website up and running AS FAST as possible in order to start collecting email signatures and selling the cookbook. Rather than doing one long launch, we did three small launches.
Phase 1: Branding & Email Setup
To get started, we created a visual identity for Laura. Since we were using WooCommerce as our web store, we needed an email client that let us properly sort contacts by sales type. That way, we can properly email people based on if they purchased the physical book or the digital book, sourdough requests, or generic sign up with no sale. We chose ConvertKit.

Phase 2: Landing Page & Store Front Created
We created a one page home page with a basic store front. All powered by WordPress and WooCommerce.
Phase 3: Input of recipes and favorites
Laura had many recipes and lists of “favorites” on her instagram. With my copywriter, we converted all of her basic instagram posts into full fledged, 1,000 word SEO rich recipe posts. I also created a custom backend on WordPress for each separation between her lists of favorites and recipes – rather than use only the “Post” with categories to separate everything.
