Farm Innovators has served the farming community since 1983. They are a local company here in Plymouth, Indiana, and their speciality is creating and developing de-icing products for farmers in the United States, Canada, and even Europe. Even though they are the industry leader in de-icing solutions, their website did not position them as such.
Problems That Needed Solving
At the end of 2023, their sales team contacted me to help them develop a new website that would do the following:
- Help customers/website visitors quickly find and receive product support
- List out all products individually for better online search ability
- Help customers find where to purchase products
- Provide potential retailers with information on each provide and remove doubts about selling the products in their stores
- Support the claim that they are the industry leader in de-icing solutions
The Solutions
As we started building the website, we realized that we had quite a bit of work to do to gather all the right information and place it properly on the website. On their old website, they only had a few pages. One page includes every product, just as a list with images, another page was for where to find the products, and another page was a contact page. We went to the drawing board, developed an entire website strategy and then got to work.
Before we were able to build out the products, we needed some new photos and videos. With my assistance, we connected Farm Innovators with local Michiana photographer.
During the project, we had multiple phone and video calls to walk through all the products, forms, docs, and images to make sure that the website was (1) correct and (2) extremely simple to use. Farm Innovators’ client base are rural famers, many who don’t actively use the internet, and since we knew our target demographic, we were able to design a website to serve them well.
